I assumed for two days that StartupToDo is down, because I used this URL: http://startuptodo.com, which leads to an error page saying something along the lines of “server down”.

Using “www.” I could get to StartupToDo without problems. The non-www URL should just redirect instead of giving the impression that an error occurred.

Thanks, Rico

Hi Rico – I've checked, and http://startuptodo.com is redirecting as far as I can tell. What OS/Browser?

I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8.

This problem happens in the latest Safari version as well as in Firefox. I also just tried a Windows XP laptop. Same issue. I'm located in Germany. Could this be a routing/ISP issue of some sort?

Hang on – that’s a screen from http://startuptodo.community-tracker.com/ – will investigate from this end. Where are you clicking to go to StartupToDo.com?

If you're clicking the StartupToDo.com link at the bottom of this page, give it a try now: should be working.

I entered the URL into the browser directly. The link at the bottom of this page is http://www.startuptodo.com.

The one that does not work for me is http://startuptodo.com (still gives me the above error).

Here the full HTTP header captured in Firefox:

http://startuptodo.com/

Hmm – I've tried to reproduce this: no luck. Anyone else get this?

I know how to get to the actual site now, so it’s not a huge issue for me (not sure about others in Europe). Maybe the easiest way to address this is to customize the error message saying something like:

“Were you looking for www.StartupToDo.com? If so, follow this link: www.startuptodo.com”
